YHEC, or Youth Hunter Education Challenge, is a program sponsored by the NRA and consists of training in eight areas:
Muzzleloader
Archery
.22 Rifle
Shotgun
Orienteering
Hunter Safety
Wildlife Identification
and Hunter Responsibility
Our local YHEC group is the Sullivan's Sharpshooters.
Based near Elmira, New York, Sullivan's Sharpshooters has members from the Northern Tier of Pennsylvania and the Southern Tier of New York. They are a group consisting of teens, parents, coaches, and volunteers with a common interest in the outdoors and the YHEC program. Training and practice occur almost year-round. The skills and information learned can last a lifetime. Their goal is to produce well rounded members who learn useful skills, have good character and maturity, and will be a credit to their family, community, and nation.
Please consider supporting the YHEC program and our next generation of Hunters and Shooters.
