The Pine City Sportsmen's Club was established in 1947, at which time membership was $1 a year. At only a dollar per year for membership, the club did not grow very fast.
In 1951, Wally Hunt started the first archery league at Pine City Sportsmen's Club, with his daughters helping him to set up the courses. This was a tremendous shot in the arm for the club.
On Labor Day weekends, the club would hold a big archery shoot. Families would come from all over to camp and shoot the match.
Our club emblem was designed by Wally Hunt, who, over the years, held every position in the club except for Treasurer. Wally handled membership at the club for over 20 years.
In 1961, 10 years after archery started, an addition was added to the club that doubled the size of the building.
In 2001, Ed Robbins started Trap shooting at the club.
In 2006, Toni Dragotta started competitive Pistol shooting at the club.
Today, the Club offers multiple Archery leagues and tournaments year-round, both indoor and outdoor. Pistol and rifle matches are held throughout the year on our six pistol pits and 200-yard rifle range. The Club also grants the use of facilities for hunter education classes and other firearms-related programs.
Club Meetings: Last Monday of every month at 6:30 PM.
